Congressman Pat Harrigan, who represents North Carolina’s 10th congressional district and secured his seat in the 2024 general election against Ralph R. Scott, Jr., has made several statements on social media regarding tax policy, election integrity, and presidential transparency.

On September 3, 2025, Harrigan posted about the extension of federal tax cuts. He stated, “If the Trump Tax Cuts had expired, #NC10 families would be staring at a 27% tax hike. Instead, @HouseGOP made sure these tax cuts were renewed, keeping $1,244 in the pocket of the average family. That’s a mortgage payment, your kid’s braces, money that actually stays in YOUR” (September 3, 2025).

Later that day, Harrigan commented on election security concerns by referencing an incident involving voter fraud: “A Canadian man has voted illegally in North Carolina for nearly 20 years, including the 2024 presidential election. That’s TWO DECADES of citizens’ voices stolen and nullified, but Democrats will still look you in the eye and say there’s no problem with our elections.” (September 3, 2025).

In another post from September 3, Harrigan criticized President Biden’s approach to press conferences after taking office: “Meanwhile, Biden went 64 days after taking office without a press conference—the longest delay in more than a century—and when he finally showed up, he couldn’t finish a sentence. The double standard is insane.” (September 3, 2025).

Harrigan won his congressional seat in November 2024 by defeating Ralph R. Scott, Jr., receiving approximately 57.5% of the vote compared to Scott’s 38.2%. This victory established him as one of North Carolina’s Republican representatives during a period marked by debates over tax policy and election integrity.
