City of Morganton is looking for an IT professional with a strong blend of interpersonal and technical skills to support to software systems, users, and interfaces between software packages and data platforms.  Position includes answering helpdesk phone calls and solving or assigning duties as needed. This position coordinates and participates in installations; troubleshooting problems, working with users on the system, and administration and maintenance of network systems involving personal computers and servers. Primarily a Windows environment, with some Linux and Mac support –

Successful candidate will be team-oriented while being able to work unsupervised and complete projects. Strong verbal and written communication skills required to effectively, tactfully, and politely communicate with vendors, other computer specialists, and a wide range of end–users to build, develop, and maintain effective working relationships. Position requires great organizational and planning skills, solid documentation habits, and strong attention to detail. Post-secondary education in computer science or related field, relate technical certifications, and / or considerable experience in personal computer and network applications and administration is desired. 

Pay range begins at $39,755.  Starting pay dependent on experience and qualifications.
