City of Morganton issued the following announcement on Mar. 11.

This position performs a variety of unskilled, manual work and tasks requiring the use of simple motorized equipment and hand tools to maintain the Cities cemeteries and grounds. 

 Landscapes and maintains parks and grounds including: mows grass, rakes leaves, trims shrubbery, removes trash/brush and other debris from grounds, sows and fertilizes grass, plants trees/shrubbery/flowers, prunes trees and shrubs, spreads mulch and other related activities. 

Loads & unloads supplies, equipment, tools, and materials. Operates mowers, weed eaters, edger’s, blowers, etc.  Performs related work as required. May assist in painting and light construction projects as needed. 

Physical Requirements: 

Must be able to lift 75 pounds safely.  

Ability to bend, stoop and climb in a variety of construction and maintenance situations. 

Exposure to all types of adverse weather conditions.
