City of Morganton issued the following announcement on May 20.

City crews will be dismantling old power lines early Sunday morning, May 22. Beginning at 5am, customers on Meeting Street from Bouchelle Street to Huffman Street will experience intermittent power outages as crews complete the work. Work is expected to take approximately three hours.

Traffic will be affected. At least one lane of Meeting Street will be closed in the areas where crews are working. Motorists should use caution when traveling down Meeting Street Sunday and be on the lookout for City crews.
