City of Hickory issued the following announcement on Mar. 25.

Mark your calendars and start to gather those hard to dispose of items around the house. Catawba County’s spring residential household hazardous waste and electronics one-day collection event will take place on Saturday, May 7, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Hickory American Legion Fairgrounds. This event is open to Catawba County residents only and is free of charge.
