City of Hickory issued the following announcement on Sept. 5.
Do you love art and creating with sidewalk chalk? The Chalk Our Walk Contest is a free sidewalk chalk art exhibition and contest being held at Stanford Park on Friday, September 16, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday, September 17, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Participants ages 3 and up are invited to show off their artistic talents in this fun contest. Prizes will be awarded for the top three entries in each category: ages 3-11, ages 12 and up, and artist groups of 2-4 people.
Register online at https://hubs.la/Q01lsvKQ0 to reserve a 3-hour time block and a 10 ft. x 10 ft. space to design a masterpiece. One box of complimentary chalk will be provided with registration.
Stanford Park is located at 1451 8th Street Drive NE in Hickory.
