City of Hickory issued the following announcement on Jan. 3.

Looking for a fun way to combine corals, conservation, science, and art? Visit the SALT Block January 5-8 for this unique collaborative project between Hickory Museum of Art’s Mel Chin: Sea to See installation and Catawba Science Center’s Aquaria! Join the community art project in the Coe Gallery, chat with Coral Crusader Shari Regenbogen Ross next to the live coral reef in the Aquarium building, and those 21+ can register to enjoy cocktails, corals & conversation at HMA! 329 Miles is a United Arts Council of Catawba County Collaborative project.

“Dive” into coral conservation with Catawba Science Center and Shari Regnebogen Ross, a Coral Crusader dedicated to saving the reefs! Get creative with Shari by participating in a community coral reef art project to be displayed at the Hickory Museum of Art! Plus more fun coral reef programs during this UAC collaborative project.
