Caldwell County announces office closures for Thanksgiving holiday

Caldwell County offices and convenience sites will be closed for the Thanksgiving holiday. All county offices are scheduled to close on Thursday and Friday, November 27 and 28. Convenience sites will only be closed on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 27.

County offices will reopen on Monday, December 1. Convenience sites will resume their normal operating schedule starting Friday, November 28.

Recent data from Caldwell County school districts shows that among senior students taking the science portion of the ACT in the 2022-23 school year, about 17.9% were considered ready for college (https://www.dpi.nc.gov/). For junior students taking the same test, approximately 19.6% met college readiness standards (https://www.dpi.nc.gov/).

In reading, around 29.2% of seniors were deemed ready for college based on their ACT scores (https://www.dpi.nc.gov/), while juniors had a rate of about 25.6% (https://www.dpi.nc.gov/).

For math, roughly 14.5% of seniors achieved college readiness on the ACT (https://www.dpi.nc.gov/), compared to about 15.4% of juniors (https://www.dpi.nc.gov/).
