The Burke County Board of Elections has announced several updates ahead of the upcoming election cycle.
A meeting will be held to approve dates for absentee ballot meetings, with a specific session scheduled for March 3, 2026. These meetings are intended to provide transparency and oversight in the processing of mailed ballots.
In addition, early voting information for February 2026 has been released. Early voting sites, hours, and locations have been established for voters who wish to cast their ballots before Election Day. The board noted that early voting is designed to give residents more flexibility in participating in elections.
“Absentee ballot meetings provide transparency and oversight in the handling of mailed ballots,” according to the Board of Elections. “Early voting offers flexibility for voters, making it easier to participate in the democratic process.”
